In 1945, almost the entire world was ruined. The Second World War was over, and its consequences seemed to be eternal. The world just wanted peace, and then, countries gathered in San Francisco to sign a document that would create a new organization: The United Nations.
Since that year, the UN has been making annual reunions where countries unite to make decisions, try to solve problems, and achieve a peaceful and fair world.
Nowadays, the world is dealing with a silent war, as disease took over and then suddenly, everything changed. The routine could not be the same as it was before, new cares had to be taken. Social distance has become a life savior, but what was supposed to be fast event is now completing almost a year. In order to be able to continue their work, the annual UN General Assembly will be realized by video conferences and reduced number of present politicians and delegates, adapting to the new world scenario and focusing on how to deal with the new coronavirus. Today, important politics and agreements will be established, discussions about how to deal with SARS CoV-2 and, just like this year, this meeting could be as remarkable as 1945’s. A new world generates new necessities and creates new challenges to be discussed.
