UNEP has difficulty in forming proposals and a final document

The United Nations Environment Programme is having trouble keeping on topic and finding coherent solutions.

The UNEP has just returned from a break and has encountered trouble. The UN representatives have stressed numerous times that the focus of this meeting is food security and plant health. Even so, many delegations were woefully unprepared and offered incredible deals and proposals which seemed somewhat unrealistic. The floor was then opened for the delegations to have time to properly research their positions. After many warnings the delegations were finally able to get back on track and discuss the proposed theme and reach deals relevant to the original issue.

The final document is currently being drafted and though there are incoherent deals in the context of th UN Environment Programme, regarding for example oil prices or promises of eliminating single use plastics, it at least addresses the problem. The document therefore though not ideal has finally began to make sense, when thinking on the original subject. With this in mind this summit might still hold promise of improving food security. However the incompetence of some delegates and the dream-like deals they are making truly embarrass the UN and its legitimacy.
